„Faces of Belgrade“ is a documentary-performative art project that finds its medium in portrait photography. At its core is a simple yet intense act of encounter: the artist approaches strangers on the streets of Belgrade, asks them for a spontaneously associated word, and portraits them. In return, they portrait him.
„Лица Београда“ је документарно-перформативни уметнички пројекат који своје средство изражавања налази у портретној фотографији. У центру је једноставан, али интензиван чин сусрета: уметник прилази странцима на улицама Београда, тражи од њих спонтано асоцирану реч и фотографише их. Заузврат, они фотографишу њега.
„Gesichter Belgrads“ ist ein dokumentarisch-performatives Kunstprojekt, das in der Porträtfotografie sein Medium findet. Im Zentrum steht ein einfacher, aber intensiver Akt der Begegnung: Der Künstler spricht Fremde auf den Straßen Belgrads an, bittet sie um ein spontan assoziiertes Wort und porträtiert sie. Im Gegenzug porträtieren sie ihn.

Presence has become strangely precarious today.

The camera circulates. There is no fixed author. Only shifting points of view.
You are photographer and image. I am image and photographer.
Destabilisation of the classical order.
Perhaps the project is also a record of fatigue.
Of social effort.
Of overcoming.
Of repetition.
In a world in which images have become inflationary, identity is constantly performed, and visibility has become currency, I ask:
What happens when two people make an image without staging it? No statement. No branding. No narrative.
